Origins and Evolution explains the transformation of a relatively simple starting point (I want to write something about The North) into the grandiose, arguably overblown structure evident hereabouts.
Supplementary Material explains the links between the project's main strands (Mapping The North and Recollections, Reflection and Reminiscence) and the background material in Antecedents.
Of Methods and Madness focuses on issues encountered as I set about writing about The North without access to a substantial reference library. I also consider how the Covid-19 pandemic has shaped the writing process.
A Question of Detail explains my attempts to address events, issues and historical figures that may be unfamiliar to the reader. It also introduces the supplementary sources and reference material accumulated as the project moved forward.
